2026 Carla Savage Award Winner

I am equally shocked and grateful that I won the Carla Savage Award for PhD students this year. I am honored that others see my work and service as impactful, as that is what I strive to do every day.

As well, my advisor, Dr. Veronica Catete, won the Carla Savage award this semester. She is the embodiment of what it means to help others see their full potential. I don’t believe getting to my 4th year of my PhD would have been possible without her. I keep a quote on my desk (shown to the right), from my sister, and it reminds me of Dr. Catete and her commitment to others.

I am grateful for my department and advisor who continue to bring out the best in myself. Their commitment to me and my professional development does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
